Sundrops by post / Les 'sundrops' à coté d'un poteau

This is a watercolour painting I composed several years ago. At the time I was experimenting with watercolours (but do we ever stop experimenting with them!) and I loved the way that broccoli-like shapes formed when you applied wet paint to a drying paint and the way that colours flowed from one to another in wet-in-wet situations. The perennial flowers in my painting grew around my yard but I never knew what to call them until I stumbled upon them in a book. The yellow flowers certainly brighten up the springtime and make a great subject for a painting. Watercolour, 14.5 x 11 inches (37 x 28 cm).

Aquarelle, 14.5 x 11 pouces (37 x 28 cm).
